Different boards same signature, same fun
Very interesting article by Sei.info, “Steve Lis Now and Then” comparing a circa 1970 5'3”Lis Fish and a 2005 5'8”Lis Fish 30 years later.
A read-through of the surfboard -deck, bottom, rails, fins placement, tail, and even signature- points out the differences. Two different boards same fun, same signature.

When we were in our twenties we use to go to Greenroom and order a Stevie's and ..wait. Then about 6 months later we would get the call. When we got there, there would be a batch of boards ready. As soon as we saw the Sufi symbol, we would know we would be passing the standup surfers and taking off way deeper and leave all but the best with there jaws unhinged. It was so fun to ride a far superior, underground board. Still is..today.
Even though one is a kneeboard and the other isn't, look at the difference in the fins?
A lot of people tend to overlook the fins, and it's importance, and ignore the massive evolution they've had.
Kind of like with photography, where people tend to forget about the lenses and invest all in the cameras.
Sweet comparison.
Cheers ;)
First Lis I have seen without glasson's. Lis rides mostly quads since the eighties.

Last year I built a quad fish based on a lis template I got from a surfboard construction book published in th 70's. I would like to add them to the blog. How do I go about this. If I can.
