"Casper" 5'1" Hydrodynamica test pilot series

photos by nuno

Richard Kenvin the maker of Hydrodynamica film was in town and left behind a "waxed" 5'1" Bob Simmons inspired twin. Shaped for himself by Joe Bauguess for the "Hydrodynamica Test Pilot Series".

Hydrodynamica is an independent film project (currently in progress) in a documentary format that explores surfing culture and the legacy of surfers since 1940s to the present.

I truly consider myself as a privileged for the skin-to-skin contact with this rare piece. Thumbs up for my buddies at the corner shop!

Looks awesome, whats the bottom like? is it a hull or a single to double concave?? I want one!

There is a lot of thinking in this board... Starts with a belly in the nose and harmonically blends into a concave...

after a freind of mine sent me some pics of these little crafts and asked me to shape one I was skeptical to say the least. But after looking into the history and curious what a tiny board some 23 inches wide would ride like I had to do it. He was blown away with how it felt and after just getting out of the water myself I have never been so amazed with a board in my life its all I want to ride and I feel its all I want to shape. thanks scotty for opening up my mind to an amazing surfing experience. simmo was way ahead of his time.

Can anyone direct me to a template for Casper?

When I finish with my current project, and updated version of this little surfmobile....
